Crocus sativus var. cartwrightianus ‘Albus’ (White Saffron Crocus): High Country Gardens.
Fall-blooming crocus. One of my former neighbours had these (but in purple) and they were the neatest things in the fall.

Well, I really detest lawn but my husband would like some in our future back yard, and I do like lawn games and watching the kids run around, so this Dwarf Fescue Lawn Seed Mix seems like a good choice.

Yep, the irony of this title does not escape me,
but lavender does well in this area. Here’s is some “Alba” lavender for sale. I think I might buy some for a pot here. Hmm.

I love variegated foliage so it was a delight to find this “Albostriata” in the dutchbulbs.com catalogue today. It’s not cheap, but I’m completely in love with it. I love the smell of lilies-of-the-valley, it’s white, and it’s variegated – perfect.

But I still think my dogwood in bloom is just gorgeous! I don’t have any all-white pics from my yard yet, so that one will have to do.

A couple years ago I planted a purple and blue columbine. It’s overwintered well, although I think I could have it in a sunnier location. Last summer I gathered some seeds from a family friend who had tiny blue columbines, very attractive. I have the seeds but haven’t planted them yet, better check when the time is to do that. This “Dove” columbine is amazing.

I grew some purple coneflowers from seed in my courtyard garden and they are doing wonderfully. I leave them out for the birds over the winter. Some day I’d like to learn how to use them medicinally but for now I enjoy their flowers and watching the tiny birds that land on them to feed. I found “White Swan,” which looks like a regular coneflower, and then “Fragrant Angel” and “Virgin,” which are more daisy-like.
